Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labour by an Accra Circuit Court. The former traditional priestess turned self-styled evangelist was found guilty on multiple counts of defrauding by false pretence and publishing charlatanic advertisements.

The conviction relates to a 2022 broadcast on her Today-TV channel, where she claimed to possess spiritual powers that could "double" money. Viewers were encouraged to attend an all-night service at her Heaven Way Champion International Ministry in Weija, Accra, where they were promised miraculous financial returns in exchange for offering cash.

According to prosecutors, over a thousand people responded to the call, with six complainants forming the basis of the charges. Many attendees reportedly gave large sums of money but received nothing in return.

Court investigations revealed a coordinated scheme designed to exploit the hopes of vulnerable individuals through deceptive religious claims. Before sentencing, a mandatory pregnancy test—required by Ghanaian law for female convicts—was conducted, which came back negative, clearing the way for the prison term to be imposed.
