Deputy Attorney-General Justice Srem Sai has firmly denied allegations that the state has misplaced evidence in the ongoing criminal case of Republic v. Adu-Boahene, stressing that all records remain intact and in the court’s possession.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, August 28, Justice Srem Sai described the claims as unfounded, explaining that the prosecution had already submitted all necessary materials months ago.

Evidence Already Filed

He confirmed that by June 18, the Attorney-General’s office had lodged the full set of documents it intends to rely on in prosecuting the four accused. These include:

Contracts of sale and purchase receipts

Bank transfer records and account statements

Company registration documents and property ownership records

INTERPOL stolen vehicle reports

Caution and charge statements of each accused

Asset non-declaration records

A flow chart of money movements across multiple bank accounts

Testimonies of the prosecution’s three witnesses

He further disclosed that certified copies of every document had already been served on the accused persons, making it “unrealistic” for the evidence to go missing.

Trial Progress So Far

Justice Srem Sai also gave an update on the status of proceedings before the legal vacation began on July 31.

According to him, the first of the three prosecution witnesses has already testified and was cross-examined by the defence counsel for three of the accused persons.

The trial, he noted, is expected to resume in mid-October when the courts return from recess.
