Police in the Western Central Region have picked up two men over the death of a 20-year-old who was stabbed to death at the Asankrangwa Education Area on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
The suspects, identified as Kwasi Opong (34) and William Francis Osei (23), are currently in custody and assisting investigators.
According to a statement from ASP Beatrice Turkson, head of the Command’s Public Affairs Unit, preliminary findings suggest the deceased was chased and stabbed several times by a group that included the two suspects. The confrontation reportedly followed an earlier misunderstanding between the victim and Opong.
Police confirmed that others involved in the attack are still at large. “Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects,” the statement said.
The victim’s body has since been taken to the Asankrangwa Catholic Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy. Authorities have assured the public that justice will be pursued and urged community members to volunteer information that could aid the investigation.
