Police in the Tema Region have arrested a 25-year-old man described as the ringleader of a robbery syndicate operating in Ashaiman and nearby communities.
The suspect, identified as Seth Tetteh and popularly known as “Wonder”, was picked up on Sunday, 30 November 2025, in a joint intelligence-led operation.
He was arrested at about 15:00 GMT near the Ashaiman China Mall in a coordinated effort involving the Atadeka Police Patrol Team and the Ashaiman Police Intelligence Directorate.
According to officers, Tetteh is suspected of playing a central role in a string of violent robberies targeting homes, pedestrians and industrial facilities. His arrest is being described by the Tema Regional Police Command as a significant step forward in its campaign against armed robbery.
Investigators say he is believed to have masterminded a recent attack on a concrete yard factory, during which he allegedly led a two-man gang on a motorbike, held victims at gunpoint and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police added that two alleged accomplices had earlier been arrested, identified by victims and are currently on remand, facing trial at the Ashaiman Circuit Court.
Following Tetteh’s detention, the Tema Police Command issued a public advisory warning against the purchase of stolen electronic devices, particularly mobile phones often sold at unusually low prices by criminal networks.
“Police is using this medium to caution receivers of stolen phones, as their arrest has legal consequences for dishonestly receiving,” the statement said.
The Command also expressed appreciation to the Police leadership for the backing provided to frontline officers, crediting that support for the operational success that led to the arrest.
