Police say they have arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with the robbery and killing of a police officer at Zebilla in the Bawku West District.
The suspect, Simon Apusiga, also known as Ananga, was picked up on 10 February 2026—two days after the incident—during an intelligence-led operation at his hideout in Tarkwa Huni Valley in the Western Region.
A statement from the Criminal Investigation Department, signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, said a special team deployed on the instructions of the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, carried out the arrest.
Police say initial findings suggest the suspect fled Zebilla shortly after the attack and was later traced to the Western Region.
Apusiga is currently in custody and assisting investigators. Police say he will be put before court, while efforts continue to track down other suspects linked to the case.
