Accounts reveal that the suspect, identified as Kweku Twia, allegedly got into a violent altercation with his father, during which he reportedly attacked him with a machete, causing severe injuries to his neck, hands, and abdomen.

A 27-year-old Senior High School graduate has been apprehended by the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Police Command in connection with a gruesome series of attacks that left one person dead and three others injured in Twifo Kwame Alert, located in the Hemang Lower Denkyira District of the Central Region.

Accounts reveal that the suspect, identified as Kweku Twia, allegedly got into a violent altercation with his father, during which he reportedly attacked him with a machete, causing severe injuries to his neck, hands, and abdomen.

Following the initial attack, Twia is said to have encountered a 75-year-old spiritual healer known in the community as Ante Amataa. He allegedly struck her multiple times with the machete, leading to her death on the spot.

After the fatal incident, Twia reportedly fled into the nearby bush, only to return later and assault two more individuals in the community, leaving them with critical injuries.

The attacks sent shockwaves through the town, sparking fear and prompting local leaders to issue a public alert. The quick response from the Twifo Atti Morkwa Police, led by Superintendent Charles Addei Boateng, resulted in Twia’s arrest.

Nana Kojo Damptey, the linguist of Twifo Kwame Alert, speculated that the suspect might be struggling with substance abuse, noting his unusually calm disposition despite the gravity of the alleged crimes.

The deceased spiritual healer’s body has been transported to the Twifo Praso Government Hospital morgue. The other victims are currently receiving treatment at the same facility and remain in critical condition.
