Police in Begoro have begun a search for a well-known guest house operator, popularly called “James Bond,” after his girlfriend was discovered dead in a room at the BJ Tech Guest House in Ehiamankyene, in the Fanteakwa South District.

The deceased, widely known as Koryo, was a familiar food vendor in the local market. Although she and the suspect shared a child, the pair were not living together, and relatives say the relationship was kept out of public view due to strong family objections.

Investigators believe the incident happened on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, when the woman visited the suspect at his lodge and failed to return home.

Officers from the Begoro Police Station retrieved the body on Thursday evening, and it has since been deposited at the Begoro Government Hospital.

News of the death triggered anger in the community. A group of youth set fire to the suspect’s Apsonic GY9 motorbike and threatened to torch the entire guest house if authorities did not act swiftly.

Police have urged residents to stay calm while the investigation continues.
