This was disclosed at the Adabraka District Court on Monday when the case involving the two accused persons, Bright Aweh, also known as Highest Bright, and Thomas Zigah, was called.
Police say they have received the DNA report in the case involving the alleged murder of Ghana Immigration Service officer Stephen King Amoah.
However, the full autopsy report from the Police Hospital is still outstanding.
This was disclosed at the Adabraka District Court on Monday when the case involving the two accused persons, Bright Aweh, also known as Highest Bright, and Thomas Zigah, was called.
Chief Inspector Apeweh Achana, who led the prosecution, told the court that investigations were still ongoing.
He said the Police needed more time to complete the necessary processes and submit a duplicate docket to the Attorney-General’s Department.
The prosecution therefore asked the court for a two-week adjournment.
The court granted the request and adjourned the case to June 29, 2026.
Aweh and Zigah were remanded into police custody.
They have been jointly charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder.
Their pleas have not yet been taken.
The case relates to the death of Stephen King Amoah, whose partially burnt body was found in a drain near Aboum Junction after he was reported missing in July 2025.
According to the prosecution, Amoah had left home to meet Aweh at Ashongman Estates before he disappeared.
Investigators say the meeting was linked to a financial dispute between the two men.
Police are said to have found a WhatsApp exchange involving images of cash as part of their investigations.
Aweh allegedly claimed he had given Amoah GH¢500,000 to settle a debt and return the balance.
The prosecution said inconsistencies in his account led to his arrest.
A search at Aweh’s residence allegedly uncovered a camouflage outfit with suspected bloodstains and a wooden pestle wrapped in polythene.
Following further investigations, an earlier kidnapping charge against Aweh was dropped, and he was held in connection with the alleged murder.
Zigah was later arrested in connection with the case.
Police say they are still pursuing a third suspect believed to be linked to the crime.
