Appearing as the fifth prosecution witness, Gloria Abrafi Asiedu Asamoa-Baah said she transferred ownership of the property to Christiana Achab for GH¢800,000, with the entire transaction completed on the day they met.

A trader has informed the High Court in Accra that she sold her husband’s 11-unit chamber-and-hall self-contained property at Budumburam to one of the accused persons in the ongoing Cecilia Abena Dapaah theft trial.

Appearing as the fifth prosecution witness, Gloria Abrafi Asiedu Asamoa-Baah said she transferred ownership of the property to Christiana Achab for GH¢800,000, with the entire transaction completed on the day they met.

Achab is standing trial alongside six others, including two former domestic workers of the former Sanitation Minister.
The accused persons—Patience Botwe (18), Sarah Agyei (30), Benjamin Sowah, Malik Dauda, Christiana Achab, Job Pomary, and Yahaya Sumaila—have all pleaded not guilty to charges ranging from conspiracy and stealing to dishonestly receiving and money laundering.

They were granted bail in November 2023, but all remain in custody, having been unable to satisfy the bail conditions.

In testimony adopted by Justice Marie-Louise Simmons as her evidence-in-chief, Asamoa-Baah told the court she first encountered Achab in January 2023 through two agents, Gyasi and Emmanuel Appiah.

The property, she explained, belonged to her husband who had decided to sell it in 2018. She enlisted the support of a friend, Kofi Asante, to engage an estate agent to help locate a buyer.

According to the witness, the parties met on 27 January 2023, where they settled on a price of GH¢800,000. Achab paid the full amount into her account the same day, prompting her to hand over the property documents immediately.

Asamoa-Baah was discharged after cross-examination on 13 November 2025. Prosecutors are expected to call their sixth witness on 12 December 2025.

A fresh charge sheet filed on 8 November introduced 31 counts, expanding the charges from the earlier 14 counts that were withdrawn at the Circuit Court.

The new charges include:

5 counts of conspiracy

6 counts of stealing

9 counts of dishonestly receiving

11 counts of money laundering

The alleged thefts involve significant sums, including €300,000 and various personal items belonging to the former minister and her husband.
