Truck driver arrested over trailer accident within Ntorosoro township

The Kenyasi District Police Command has arrested a 44-year-old articulated truck driver after his trailer loaded to full with 2750 boards of sawn lumber crashed in the middle of the Ntorosoro township within the Ahafo Region. 

In a statement accompanied by videos of the incident shared on social media, the police said the driver was arrested for insecure loading, careless driving, and causing damage.

The incident is said to have “also led to the destruction of some properties belonging to market women by the roadside.”

The suspect who is in police custody will be processed for court, the statement indicated.  

“In order to clamp down on insecure loading and its attendant issues, the Ahafo Regional MTTD Command has been directed to take immediate steps to check the menace on the road and any driver found culpable will be dealt with accordingly.”
