Residents of Tweapease-Aboo in the Ashanti Region are living in fear after police arrested two young men suspected of murdering 20-year-old Kofi Mensah during a robbery attack.
The suspects, identified as Solomon Opoku and Collins Aboagye, are alleged to have killed Mensah on October 6, 2025, before fleeing with his Haojin motorbike.
Police say their breakthrough came when Opoku attempted to sell the stolen bike at Council Quarters in Obuasi. His arrest led investigators to Kokotesua, where Aboagye was also apprehended.
According to the Ashanti South Regional Police Command, both men have since confessed to the crime. The stolen motorbike has been recovered.
The suspects have been remanded after being arraigned, as investigations continue.
Deputy Regional Police Commander ACP Cephus Arthur told journalists that the police are determined to maintain law and order in the area.
“We will not rest until every community in the region is safe,” he said.
He also advised residents to avoid mob justice and allow the judicial process to run its course.
“Let’s trust the system and give the law space to operate effectively,” he added.
The arrest has offered some reassurance, but locals say fear continues to linger following the violent nature of the crime.
