Two employees of a company in North Kaneshie, Accra, have been arrested by the Special Support Unit of the Ghana Police Service for allegedly plotting to rob their employer during a planned cash transfer.
The suspects, identified as Joseph Danso (also known as Nana Yaw) and Fauzan Alhassan, were apprehended on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, while trailing a company dispatch rider transporting funds to a bank in Abossey Okai.
According to a statement on the Ghana Police Service’s official Facebook page, intelligence had revealed that the duo, along with two other accomplices—Frankie and Asante—were planning to intercept the money mid-transfer.
Acting swiftly on the tip-off, police mounted a surveillance operation, which led to the on-the-spot arrest of Danso and Alhassan.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their roles in the scheme and disclosed the identities of their accomplices, prompting a manhunt for the remaining members of the group.
