The incident, which unfolded around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, resulted in 36-year-old farmer Osman sustaining severe injuries that required hospitalization.

Police in Assin Wurakese Camp, within the Assin Foso Municipality of the Central Region, have taken a 43-year-old woman, Esi Affumwaa, into custody for allegedly attacking a customer and biting his testicles during a violent altercation.

The incident, which unfolded around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, resulted in 36-year-old farmer Osman sustaining severe injuries that required hospitalization.

Osman recounted that the disagreement stemmed from a cigarette purchase at Affumwaa’s drinking spot. He bought one for GH₵1.20 but initially paid only GH₵1, promising to settle the remaining 20 pesewas later.

When he returned the following day, he handed Affumwaa GH₵5, assuming she would deduct the outstanding amount. However, when he later attempted to make another purchase, Affumwaa insisted he still owed her the 20 pesewas.

What started as a verbal argument soon turned physical. Osman claimed that Affumwaa struck him on the head with a stick, causing him to fall. He further alleged that she, with the help of her children, assaulted him before biting his testicles.

Bleeding heavily, Osman cried out for help until bystanders intervened and rushed him to the hospital.

Confirming the incident, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jacob Kumedzro of the Assin Fosu District Police Command stated that investigations were underway.

Osman has since been discharged from the hospital, while Affumwaa remains in police custody as authorities continue their inquiries.
